Social Recruiting
ocial recruiting is a hot topic, heck why wouldn’t you want to source candidates for free? With the plethora of social sites and channels you would think it would be as easy as taking candy from a baby. In reality social sourcing can be a huge time suck – jumping in and out of social channels, LinkedIn groups and twitter.
Community thinking
I was recently interviewed by Jennifer Jones for her podcast Marketing Voices about social media. Jennifer works with many small to medium sized companies and wanted to hear my perspectice on communities for businesses. We talked through a few applications that I am using as paret of my marketing mix including twitter, facebook and a Ning community.
Twitter – Professional or Personal?
When I first signed up for a twitter account I signed up at DuncanEgan and started to do personal tweets. I found that what I was saying really wasn’t all that interesting and that people don’t care that I am shopping at the mall (maybe a few people that might get gifts care).
Twitter and your business
Twitter is a tool that many recruiters and job seekers are using to connect far beyond what they have been able to do on Facebook or LinkedIn and in almost real time. If you are not familiar with twitter you can read a twitter getting started guide from CNET here.
